The Web Edition of our Microsoft® Excel® based software for budgets and business plans is designed to be deployed on corporate intranets. However, to access Budget Controller through a web browser, users must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.1 or later and an appropriate Microsoft Office XP (2002) license with Microsoft Office Web Components installed. To achieve acceptable internet response times, Budget Controller Web allows for monthly financial projections of only one year with one revenue stream per file. Although Budget Controller Web lacks the sophistication and powerful financial modelling functionality of the Corporate Edition, it provides an effective way to disseminate budgets to managers across large organisations and allow them to do their own online "what-if" analysis to get a real feel for the sensitivity of the budget to alternative scenarios. Importantly, it uses the same basic principles to automatically construct integrated Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements. Nevertheless, the accounts are less detailed and don't have the ability to "drill down" to the underlying details like the Corporate Edition. In addition, the Web Edition doesn't have quarterly reports, only monthly and yearly, nor does it have the facility to change to a second languages. Budget Controller Web is the ideal tool for creating budgets in large organisations that need an efficient internet based method to disseminate information. It could be used in conjunction with Budget Controller Standard or another budgeting software package to provide management interactivity and feedback on the budgeting process via the corporate internet.
